Work great for both music and watching TV late at night. Very happy with my purchase and would recommend this to anybody in the market for a mid priced set of headphones. The Sony MDR-V6 Monitor Series sound great and for the price are a very good purchase. I have had more expensive models in the past and these sound as good as many of the higher end models I have owned.
Deep bass and sweet tweeting treble and after hours of listening, my ears feel fine.mike Best thing to sit on my head. Ever.
The coiled wire is heavy, and it pulls down on the headset. The sound quality is good, but I was not wowed. this could be the main issue that I have. but this is subjective. I find the ear pads to be a bit too small to cover the whole ear, resolving in uncomfortable pressure on the earlobes.
Yes, of course they are a bit cumbersome, yes of course u will get a bit hot walking around with these in warm weather, but hey, they beat ipod earbuds. I didnt even see it 'til some angry businessman barked it at me.
At 70 bucks or whatever they are, i really counted on them lasting a couple years, and they do sound pretty darned good, so I'm not too stoked about this. So, i guess the next step is superglue.
That's basically it. This morning, it popped off as I took them off and it fell in a puddle.
I will say this, the first few weeks of owning them are great, in that, after spending years rocking only the ipod buds, it was refreshing to rediscover my library as it was meant to be heard. These sound very good, at very high volumes they get a bit muddy though.
My only problem is that one pad keeps popping off.
5 stars. Blocks sound well, built like a truck, and is reasonably comfortable (MRD-V900HD is better, ie bigger, in that regard). I love Sony headphones. I've owned the MDR-V6 for 9 years, and just recently picked up the MDR-V900HD, which is only a little bit better sounding than these, but for more than twice the price. My pair of MDR-V6 is still going strong, survived years in band/live recording situations with just a few scratches, and the ear pad vinyl is starting to come off a little on the edges.Laid back, clear, clean sound, with no strange EQ bumps.
